Teresa visits Barclay’s Erith branch to support cancer charity fundraiser

Last week Teresa Pearce visited the Erith branch of Barclays to support their coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

All the funds raised by the coffee morning will go towards providing Macmillan grants to support people affected by cancer who are on low incomes and in need of immediate assistance. The grants help meet urgent unmet costs that have arisen from cancer diagnosis and its treatment, such as the cost of travelling to hospital.  The coffee mornings held across the UK have been very successful in the past, and last year raised £8 million for Macmillan.

Teresa joined Barclay’s Erith branch manager Lee Kelson and employees for some coffee and cake before donating to the appeal. Over £200 was raised at the branch’s coffee morning, which has been matched by Barclays through their community investment programme.

Teresa said:

“I’d like to thank the staff at Barclays in Erith for putting on such a great coffee and cake morning and helping to raise so much money for Macmillan. There are many local people living with cancer and they and their families need our support. Macmillan does a great job of supporting everyone affected by cancer and I was delighted to help Barclays fundraise for them.”
