Teresa encourages constituents to take part in TFL’s consultation on cashless bus services

Teresa is urging local people to take part in a public consultation launched today by Transport for London (TfL) about the possibility of going cashless on bus services. If this proposal is approved following the consultation, the option to pay by cash on TFL bus services will be removed in 2014.

The consultation opened today and will run for eight weeks until the 11th October 2013. Constituents can fill in a questionnaire about this online.

Teresa said:

“If this proposal goes ahead it will mean that people will be unable to pay with cash to use bus services. I appreciate how important public transport is to lots of people across the constituency, and this change to payment on bus services could directly impact them.

I would encourage anyone who uses buses to look on the TFL website so that they are aware of the implications of this change. I would also ask that constituents consider contributing to the public consultation on this issue to ensure that the voices of people across Erith & Thamesmead are heard.”
