Teresa warns of Christmas transport disruption

Teresa today warned constituents of forthcoming station closures for people travelling to London by rail over the Christmas period.

Thameslink improvement works will be undertaken by Network Rail from the evening of 24 December 2015 until 4 January 2016, which will result in London Bridge Station being totally closed.

Teresa said:

“London Bridge, Waterloo East, Charing Cross and Cannon Street will all be closed from 24 December for ten full days. Many of my constituents will continue to commute during this period, and others may wish to use the holiday season to explore London or visit friends and families. I urge all rail travellers to check now how they may be affected by having to find alternative routes into London.

“Tickets will be accepted on alternative routes and some rail replacement buses will be available, but the best advice would be to check before you travel to make sure that you are not affected by the disruption.”
